Management
Franz L. Helbig has extensive venture capital and senior management
experience in the U.S., and Europe. Most recently, he was CEO
and Managing Director of T-Venture of America, Inc., the U.S. operation
of T-Venture, the venture capital unit of Deutsche Telekom,
Bonn, Germany. He has also held senior venture capital fund management
positions with TIG GmbH and with the Matuschka Group, both in Berlin,
and with Churchill International, San Francisco. Franz has also been
a member of the board of directors of many portfolio
companies from initial investment to exit.
His corporate management experience includes Johnson & Johnson,
Esso International and General Motors Overseas Corporation. Franz
also founded and managed an international pharmaceutical marketing
business and his own consulting firm focusing on national
and international market development and investment strategies for
technology and consumer products corporations.
Franz is currently partner and managing director of Silicon Hill Ventures LLC, a financial advisory firm located in Silicon Valley, California. He is also a director of PowrTec, an intelligent power meter company, Santa Cruz Design + Innovation Center, Santa Cruz, California. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Franz holds a B.B.A. degree from Texas Technological University and M.A. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in both Economics and Political Science. He is fluent in German, English and Dutch.
Arthur Mrozowski, partner in Silicon Hill Ventures LLC is also the CEO of MGE, Inc., a digital entertainment content distribution company.
Arthur was part of the team that produced the world’s first premiere DVD titles, utilizing new technologies in audio and video recording.He has also established one of the first post-production studios geared toward conversion of Hollywood titles. As a Silicon Valley pioneer, Arthur was a first mover with in digital media products at SONY. He designed software allowing PC and Mac sharing compatibilities with the same discs. In addition,
Arthur was also involved in SONY’s first commercial use of digital video for advertisement on CD-ROMs. Lastly, Arthur was a member of SONY group developing the first PlayStation titles. Recently, Arthur positioned and created visual plans for a startup Silicon Valley technology companies.
Arthur provides invaluable advice and insight during the SHV deal-flow company evaluation process. His high-technology background and creative orientation allows him to offer significant strategic and positioning advice. His extensive background allows him to provide connections and opportunities for deal-flow companies, both in the U.S., Poland, as well as other regions of Europe.
Larry Matheny, Lead Investor/Partner
Mr. Matheny has been in the semiconductor industry for thirty-five years. During this period, Mr. Matheny worked fourteen years in the aerospace industry with companies such as Aerojet Electrosystems, Hughes R&D and Rockwell International. Mr. Matheny was a director of Texas Instruments for applications, director of American Micro Systems, vice-president of marketing for United Micro Company in Taiwan, and president of Matra Harris Semiconductor.
Mr. Matheny founded SYNMOS, Inc., which was funded by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Mr. Matheny has co-founded multiple Silicon Valley companies.
Mr. Matheny utilizes his management skills combined with his engineering background to focus on start up companies where he helps provide seed funding and moves the company through to serious funding rounds.
Mr. Matheny received a BS/MSEE at Cal State University and his Ph.D. from the University of London.
Grant Jasmin – Founder and CEO of POWRTec, a Campbell, California, high-tech energy metering company. The state of the art intelligent electric power utility metering and power systems is being created and manufactured by POWRtec today.
Grant Jasmin holds both an MBA and a Law degree and has over 25 years of experience as an executive and a lawyer working with high-tech companies in Silicon Valley. He has been responsible for dozens of publicly registered and private stock and debt offerings.
